Breeding Your Horses
Horse World Online Game
When breeding your horses, there are several different goals you can aim for. Some players breed to create new breeds. Some breed to improve breeds already on the game. Some breed for height while others breed purely for color. It is up to you to decide what you want to breed for on HWO. Here is a How-to guide for breeding on the game. There is no right or wrong way to do things.
Breeding Results:
When you breed for new breeds, there are several different outcomes that can come from breeding.
- You may end up with a 50% part-bred, a mixed, or a new breed.
The chances of getting a new breed are random....like rolling the dice.
Some breeds may need to be bred with mixes to get them, such as the Egyptian Arabian which calls for the following cross: (Akhal-Teke x Caspain) X Arabian.
The Akhal-Teke x Caspian will NEED to say 'Akhal-teke x Caspian' for the breeding to work. You will then breed the crosed horse with an arabian to get the Egyptian. You may still end up with a mixed result from this breeding, but just keep breeding and you will eventually get an Egyptian. (Hint: Make sure the heights of the horses you are breeding are close to what breed you are trying to make)
IMPORTANT!!! – You will need to OWN the book of the breed you are trying to produce (when breeding for New Breeds) in order to be able to breed it! Just knowing the information is NOT enough…you need to actually have the book in your library to be able to breed for the new breed. Once you have bred a new breed successfully, you will no longer need the book to breed it.
Types of Breeding
The game has different ways of breeding your horses. At the moment, there is the standard live cover and also Pasture breeding.
Live Cover Breeding
Mares
In order to breed a mare, you will first need to find a suitable stallion that is available for stud. You can search for a stallion by clicking on Market ---> Stallions at Stud. Here you can perform a search for a specific breed, mix, height, and price. Once you have found a stallion that is up for stud, go to his page and click the button that says 'Breed this Stallion.' This will bring up a window that has your mares in it. Click on the name of the mare you want to breed. This will breed the two horses together and your mare will now be pregnant. Mares are pregnant for about 25 game days. Each game day uses 2 weeks of a year.
If, when you click on the 'Breed to this Stallion' button it says you need more stalls, then you will need to sell or retire a horse in order to make room for the baby. Once you have made room, you will be able to breed.

Stallions
To put a stallion up for stud, you will need to be able to do so if you have done the needed learning course. For each learning course you complete, the more stallions you can offer for breeding. To put a stallion up for stud for breeding to other player's horses, you will go to his page and click on the breed horse button. A window will come up for you to edit an ad for your stallion. You can select to have approved mares only if you want to be selective in who breeds to your stallion. Or you can leave this box unchecked to let anyone breed. Enter your stud fee and be sure to fill in a description and heading for your ad. When done click on save and your stallion will now show up in the market for breeding.

Pasture Breeding - currently not on the game
To pasture breed your horse, you will need to have BOTH the stallion and the mare(s) turned out in the same pasture. You will actually need to have possession of both horses to do this since they have to be in the same pasture. IE - put a stallion in the same pasture as an open mare - or herd of open mares. Leave them there and as you advance to the next day, you may end up having them breed in the meantime. Pasture breeding does NOT happen ALL the time. So there is a chance they may not breed and you may have to leave them together longer until they do breed. It is hit or miss if they breed or not so this is not the most effective way to breed horses on the game if you want to maximize your foals from a particular horse.
